The band formed in 1987 and consisted by Alex Campo, Victor Fernandez, Jose Roberto Galindo and Sergio “Taz” Fernandez. DIDECA had a contract for 1994-5 and removed a KCT and LP (the label refused to “invest” in CD format) titled “Desde Cero” which contains 9 songs in Spanish made up by the band. The tracks recorded by Jorge Estrada in 1994 and paid for by the band themselfs with the aim of getting a higher quality material than those could have recorded with DIDECA equipment and personnel. Due to lack of support from the label, and especially for the support of the radios NULL chapinas of the time, the band failed to spread their music.
The band had to continue to balance their concerts with covers, liked them enjoyed public but did not really grow the group whose aim was to contribute to the high Guatemalan scene with the best hard rock original in Spanish they might offer. They opened several concerts for artists like Miguel Mateos, Snap, Marta Sanchez and perhaps mostly remembered for its opening to Mana concert at the Plaza de Toros 1995. The recording contract was for 3 albums but the band dissolved unmotivated DIDECA contract in an effort to launch their 2nd album independently. Something that never happened and the songs were literally in the pipeline: composed, written and ready to be recorded.
The group disbanded in 1996 after nine years of fighting. Ironically, one or two years later came a boom support by local bands such as the Phoenix stations, etc.. They became popular some places to play as the Bodeguita del Centro. But each member seeking re-take his life and the fate of Yttrium was to remain anonymous. Litsen!!...
